Background
FRAD Foundation, in partnership with donors and government stakeholders, is implementing the Interim Reparative Measures (IRM) for Survivors of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence in Borno State. This transformative project seeks to restore dignity, resilience, and healing for survivors through psychosocial support, case management, and community reintegration.
To ensure effective delivery, FRAD Foundation seeks a qualified and empathetic Psychosocial Caseworker (PSS Case Worker) to provide survivor-cantered support, manage cases, and strengthen community-based protection mechanisms in Gwoza LGA.
Purpose of the Position
The PSS Case Worker will ensure effective case management for survivors, focusing on their mental, physical, economic, and social well-being, through accompaniment processes. The caseworker will accompany survivors through their healing journey, facilitate access to Interim Reparative Measures, and support reintegration into their communities.
Key Responsibilities
A. Case Management & Survivor Support
- Provide survivor-focused psychosocial support through consultations, home visits, and follow-ups.
- Develop trust-based frameworks to accompany survivors in their healing journey.
- Guide survivors in defining and accessing Interim Reparative Measures (IRM) using GSF methodology.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all actions prioritize survivor protection.
B. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure smooth running of documentation systems and accurate database entries for referrals.
- Record and report survivors’ clinical needs, consultations, and activities.
- Prepare timely reports and participate in debriefings with supervisors.
C. Community Engagement & Reintegration
- Identify local networks and community services to establish referral systems.
- Facilitate trainings on trauma, stress management, and educational support to CRSV survivors.
- Support survivor’s reintegration through collaboration with religious, traditional, and community institutions.
- Establish community mechanisms among survivors for protection and resilience.
D. Training & Capacity Building
- Identify and support training needs for survivors and community care providers.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions to strengthen survivor participation in project implementation.
E. Coordination & Collaboration
- Participate in survivor accompaniments and IRM needs assessments.
- Collaborate with community leaders, families, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.
- Support administrative and management tasks as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Diploma or degree in social science, humanities or related fields.
- Proficiency in English and Hausa.
- Knowledge of gender issues, women’s rights, and conflict-related sexual violence.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong computer and reporting skills.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Mental Health, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in GBV case management or working with vulnerable populations.
- Experience in working in the humanitarian sector
- Ability to prepare reports and meeting timelines.
