Position Title: CPIMS+/GBVIMS+ Assistant – Child Protection & GBV Case Management

Number of Positions: 1 (Based in Bama, covering Ngala and Gwoza LGA)
Location: Bama, with responsibilities in Ngala and Gwoza LGAs, Borno State
Contract Type: Full-time
Duration: 10 months
Reporting to: Protection Officer
Start Date: As soon as possible

1. Background

FRAD Foundation is implementing a humanitarian project to support vulnerable children and families in Borno State. A critical component of this work is child protection (CP) and gender-based violence (GBV) case management, ensuring that children and women at risk, or survivors of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, receive timely, safe, and confidential support.

Part of the project activities and objectives include

  • Provision of case management services, including psychosocial support, family tracing, and referrals.
  • Raising awareness in communities on child protection, gender-based violence, rights, and safeguarding.
  • Strengthening linkages with local authorities, health services, schools, and psychosocial support actors.

To achieve these objectives, FRAD Foundation seeks a dedicated CPIMS+/GBVIMS+ Assistant to manage digital case management systems, support frontline case management, strengthen community-based mechanisms, and assist protection teams across Bama, Ngala, and Gwoza LGAs.

2. Purpose of the Position

The CPIMS+/GBVIMS+ Assistant will ensure accurate and timely management of CP and GBV cases in the project areas. The Assistant will work closely with the Protection Officer to maintain high-quality case documentation, support referrals, uphold child and survivor protection standards, and manage the creation and use of CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+ accounts for uploading and tracking cases.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Case Management Support

  • Create and manage CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+ accounts for staff to enable secure uploading of cases.
  • Enter, update, and maintain CP and GBV case records in CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+ with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Support caseworkers in tracking cases, referrals, and follow-ups.
  • Assist in data analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Support needs assessments and individualized care plans for children and GBV survivors.

B. Community Engagement & Awareness

  • Assist in conducting community sensitization sessions on child protection, GBV, and safeguarding.
  • Help identify vulnerable children, women, and families through community networks and school engagement.
  • Promote referral pathways for health, psychosocial, education, and livelihood services.

C. Coordination & Liaison

  • Work with local authorities, child protection committees, GBV coordination structures, schools, and healthcare providers.
  • Attend CP and GBV coordination meetings and support the integration of digital case management standards.

D. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate case records in CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+.
  • Generate and support preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports on case trends and outcomes.
  • Assist in documenting lessons learned, good practices, and case studies for internal and donor use.

E. Capacity Building

  • Train and mentor staff and community volunteers on using CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+.
  • Promote awareness of child safeguarding and GBV protection principles among project teams and partners.

4. Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in child protection or GBV case management in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Proven experience using CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+ or similar case management systems.
  • Experience creating user accounts and uploading case data into CPIMS+ and GBVIMS+.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children, women, and at-risk families.
  • Knowledge of local context, culture, and challenges in Bama, Ngala, and Gwoza LGAs.
  • Strong understanding of child protection, GBV standards, safeguarding, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in challenging and remote environments.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in Northeast Nigeria.
  • Familiarity with referral systems for health, education, psychosocial, and protection services.
  • Knowledge of gender inclusion, protection mainstreaming, and community-based child protection mechanisms.
