As part of ongoing program expansion in Borno State, FRAD seeks to recruit a qualified Finance Intern to support the Finance Department in ensuring accountability, transparency, and efficiency in financial operations. The position will provide hands-on experience in financial management, reporting, and compliance with FRAD’s financial policies and donor requirements.

Purpose of the Position
The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department in day-to-day financial operations, including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, assisting in budget monitoring, and preparing financial reports. The role will contribute to strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance with FRAD’s financial policies, and supporting program teams with timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transaction Processing
- Assist in processing payments, vouchers, and receipts in line with FRAD’s financial procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
2. Financial Record Keeping
- Support in maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documents.
- Assist in updating financial databases and ERP systems.
3. Budget Monitoring
- Assist in tracking project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Provide support in preparing budget variance reports.
4. Financial Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support donor reporting requirements by compiling financial data.
5. Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to FRAD’s financial policies and donor regulations.
- Assist in maintaining accountability and transparency in all financial transactions.
6. Audit Support
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
7. Capacity Building
- Learn and apply financial management practices under the supervision of the Finance Officer.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops organized by FRAD.
Performance Measures
- Performance will be assessed based on:
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial record keeping
- Proper documentation and filing of financial transactions
- Timely support in financial reporting and audits
- Compliance with FRAD financial policies and donor requirements
- Contribution to maintaining accountability and transparency
Qualifications and Experience Minimum Requirements
- Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work under pressure.
